Painted on location during the Outdoor Painters Society paintout in Prescott, February 2011. The buildings pictured were bordellos during Jerome's mining heyday. Now, the only reason I know that is because the tour guides always would stop near enough to me while I was painting that when they were talking, I couldn't help but eavesdrop. It had snowed a day before we were there, so that when I started the painting there were show drifts in the shadowed corners. When I finished, they were decidedly smaller. In a couple more hours they would be gone.
